50% Budget Increase
If you are shocked by the 2007 Budget proposed by Talmage and the Turkey Hill Gang, compare it to the 2004 budget and you should be more shocked.
2004 Budget $1,338,581,00
2007 Budget $1,806, 208,00
A 50% increase. Is there anyone watching the store besides Milan United?
Wake up Milan while you still gave something to wake up to; you are being robbed blind.

Its seems to me that the town board's goal is to grow the government while strangling the town at the same time. Didn't we move up here to get away from all this?
Of course, those of us who GREW up here are also concerned about the actions of those of you who have "moved up here" and are making it impossible for us to continue to live in OUR town...
Just a few questions for the taxpayer to ponder prior to the public hearing:
1. The Tentative Budget – how is it that the taxpayer is asked to fund the title of “Budget Officer” to the tune of $10,000? Doesn’t Town Law name the Supervisor as the Budget Officer? The Supervisor may appoint someone else as the Budget Officer – however, it may not be a member of the Town Board.
In any event $10,000 to perform the somewhat non burdensome duties of this job?
Towns like Stanford ($5,900); Washington ($10,000 for the Supervisor who acts as the Budget Officer); and Pleasant Valley ($7,875),pay the Budget Officer (be it the Supervisor or his/her appointee) a decidedly less amount. Is this appropriation a hidden “lulu” to the Supervisor? Has he hired an outside individual or firm?
2.The Town Board – a 4% salary increase? Justification please?
3.Secretary to the Supervisor – 100% raise – from $6,000 to $12,000?
4.Attorney fees– from $25,000 to $35,000, an increase of 40%?
5.Planning - 4 times the budgeted amount? From $2,200 to $11,000.
6.Interfund Revenue of $58,000 in the General Fund. Interfund revenue is not a revenue but “Other Financing Source”. Which fund is this amount transferred in from? The Highway Fund doesn’t have a corresponding “Interfund Transfer” or “Other Financing Use”
7.The Highway Budget lists $8,900 as revenue for the Estuary Grant but the appropriation is in the General Fund.
come on Jack are you just plain lying - i know you know how to read - please tell me you just put your spin on this for political reasons or has your anger just pushed you over the edge? people go to www.milan-ny.gov and get the real facts.
What exactly is "Jack" lying about? I went to Milan-ny.gov and these numbers are exactly the same!
omg - you are right - we are in trouble
Was that Jack Campisi squealing like a little girl to the Supervisor about the Big Bad Building Inspector arguing with him? Does the Secretary need help from the Supervisor - how ironic!
