Milan's Vigilantes

Milan now has a Vigilante Committee headed by none other than Councilpersons Clark and May. The purpose of the Committee is to spy on Milaners and report back if they see anything eschew on one’s property. They will then report to the building inspector and have him investigate their findings. The building inspector will decide on what action should be taken against the offending party. If you doubt this report, check with some of the merchants on Route 199.
You can be sure that Talmage’s junk yard or Clark’s will not be investigated. They have violated every code on the books in Milan. It is one hell of a note when Board Members try to turn Milan into a police state.Remember this when you go to the polls in November

On Saturday evenings when Councilperson May gets tired staring at a blank TV screen and Bill is still trying to remember the lines given to him by Councilman Williams; she cruises the highways and byways of Milan looking for any house with a sound of music coming from it and has two or more cars in the driveway; she reports the findings back to the Vigilante Committee for an immediate investigation. There is a possibility someone might be enjoying themselves on a Saturdaynight. That is a No No to the Vigilante Committee.

When were anti-sound law and no-car parking regulations passed?? I must have missed the public hearings on those two!

More Secret Government. Why has Talmage and his three stooges refuse to accept written comments on the public hearing on their latest wetlands law. Do they know some of us have jobs and are often unable to express our opinions at their convenience. Of The Gang of Four, three of them are unemployed and the fourth is unemployable.

Oh but you did have a whole week from the date of the 6-7 public hearing (three more days)to write-in your comments. The real question is whether or not anyone will consider our opinions when deciding our fate? It seems as though minds have been made up a long while ago....good luck! At least your thoughts will be included in the record.

What I'm going to remember in November is you guys follow the same Republican pattern as always and do nothing but make personal attacks on people with lies and innuendoes instead of paying any attention to issues. What I'm also going to remember is that a gravel mine in this town will ruin it and that you guys don't have a clue about how to stop it, assuming you're not lying about that too. Not one of the Rep. candidates has done anything over the past six years to fight the mine. Six years ago Boy Wonder Byrnes was still in school and Dick "I'm a Lousy Real Estate Broker" Barrett wasn't even living here. Booby Egan spends her time saying she thinks people should be able to do anything they want with their property, which means she thinks Red Wing ought to be able to run a mine because they own the land and screw the rest of us.

anonymous 6:07pm-Look in a mirror. You seem to be describing yourself. Why don't you talk about the issues. Why don't you ask yourself why the gravel mine is still an issue six years later? What has the current administration done in the last six years but screw up the comprehensive plan that people worked so hard on and so many tax dollars have been spent on? Not everyone is a Republican. There are many Democrats in this town that are disappointed with failure of the current administration.
