Guess who got your tax money

Where Did All The Money Go? Review of Fiscal 2006

Milan United has finally gotten a copy of the year-end financial records for 2006, and we thought we would highlight some of the ways the gang of four spent your money.
One area that has taken a lot of it is through payments for consultants; two in particular Van DeWater & Van DeWater, attorneys and Greenplan, planning consultants. . During 2006, the gang of four, the Planning Board, and the Zoning Board authorized the following payments to these two firms:
Van DeWater & Van DeWater $41,794.47
Greenplan $36,920.00
Total $78,714.47

In addition, the town zoning and planning boards spent a total of $114, 854.20 of individual’s money. These escrow funds went to three consulting firms:
Paggi Martin & D was paid $ 22,462.75
Greenplan was paid $ 53,751.75
Van DeWater & Van DeWater was paid $ 38,639.70
For a total of $114,854.20

If you are wondering why property is so expensive in Milan, here’s a good reason

TAXES? $193,568.67 of our money!

We are being "planned" into the poorhouse! The town, zoning & planning boards are ouot of control when it comes to ESCROW money. Their non-essential hiring of consultants to look up everyone's figurative butts is cost residents nearly $200k. I would bet that if you reviewed the records you couldn't find 1/4 of that amount spent in the previous 10 years! This is their way, once again, of keeping regular people out of Milan by driving up land prices - IT'S ECONOMIC RACISM.

If the Milan town board violated State law "General Municipal law 103" who will follow up on this violation? Would the Town board members be responsible, personably?

Want a good old fashioned belly laugh? In this week's Register Herald, Town Board member Ms. May is quoted "It's very important to have someone with experience, because it is a very technical job."
This, referring to the Justice Court position and opening the job to non Milan residents.
Guess it's more important to have a justice court clerk with experience than a Town Board member...or did she serve on a board prior to her hopefully short stint on the Milan board.

Where did all the bloggers go? What's going on with the Milan Republicans? Is it true that Jim Jeffries was thrown out of the leadership position due to gross incompetence? Why have there been no blog entries or new topics in over a month?

Amazing...

Yeah, who ever is in charge of this blog has taken a long enough break! Get back to work! There are a few topics we can comment on. OK I'll pick one-How much money has the town spent on legal fees to resubmit the comprehensive plan after failing to do it correctly the first time? Is the Town's law firm giving the taxpayer a refund for not adequately representing us? Is there no recourse? Do we have to sue the lawyers as well? As the saying goes "do it twice, make it right?" If I voted for these people I would be extremely disappointed.....
