Gang of Four Sinks to New Low

You might wonder how low the Gang of Four can stoop, don’t wonder any more. They have given the most spiteful performance of pettiness Milan has ever seen. Supervisor Talmage under the direction of sneering defacto supervisor Williams decided to punish the Milan Town Clerk, Catherine Gill by removing funding for a deputy clerk. Not only, they are punishing the Town Clerk, an elected official of the town, but by their actions they are rendering a hardship on the citizens of Milan whose taxes they are playing with.
The cause of the vicious behavior by this Bunch; was the Town Clerk was forced to dismiss the deputy clerk for being derelict in her duties and insubordination. This was not a capricious act by the town clerk; the deputy clerk had received repeated warnings on her dereliction of duties. Warning she choose to ignore as she had the support of the bunch on the board.
Most people in Milan have had business with the Town Clerk. No one has ever said they received anything but total cooperation from Mrs. Gill. Mrs. Gill is an elected an elected official of Milan and according to New York State Town Law, the management of the Town Clerk’s Office is the responsibility of the Town Clerk; the deputy clerk serves at the town clerk’s pleasure. Once again this bunch on the board has plowed into territory where they have no business.
In the motion to withhold funding for a deputy clerk, the board said, “And, whereas this board has had concerns about the operation and function of the Town Clerk’s Office for sometime.” So to show their concern for the office they penalize the Town Clerk.
It you find the service slow or your calls go unanswered, don’t blame the Town Clerk, take it up with the Gang of Four, you know who they are.

This town board is its own worst enemy. Will they never cease their efforts to make Milan a miserable place to live? What possible motive could they have for withdrawing funding for a deputy town clerk other than for political reasons? I wish we could withdraw funding for them! The town clerk has a right to dismiss an insubordinate employee without fear of reprisal.

Wow - if the deputy clerk was insubordinate, I'm sure she learned it at the knee of her "boss" Cathy Gill - you know, the "elected official" who won't do anything for anyone except Jim Jeffries and his lapdog Jack Campisi? The Cathy Gill who is consistently disrespectful to the Board and to members of the Milan community? The Cathy Gill whose records management "skills" have lead to gaping holes in the Town archives? If the prior Deputy Clerk was acting in THIS fashion, maybe the Board was trying to protect the community from the Town Clerk infecting another employee with her venom and piss-poor attitude and performance...

It gets better - do you know what the deputy town clerk did to get fired for insubordination - she wanted training (that's right take a class). Now I can think of only one reason that Cathy Gill would fire someone for wanting training - Cathy Gill doesn't know what she is doing as clerk and was afraid the deputy would know more than her (one class would be more).

I have never experienced anything but excellent service and helpfulness from Cathy. Can't say the same for the deputy....What are the gaping holes in the Town archives? Protecting the community by cutting back on services to that community seems foolish and spiteful. What big babies!

And the next thing we are going to hear from these anonymous supporters is "The Gang of 4 is hiring Bill May at $50,000.00 a year as deputy town clerk". If you got excellent service from Kathy Gill and not the deputy town clerk then you are probably Jim Jeffreys - remember you wanted to have the deputy fired because she didn't do exactly what you told her to do - talk about Big Babies and spitefulness. In that area you win.
(even if you can't win an election)

Anonymous Wow and Anonymous #3 are both of you clowns Bill May? Or are you Bill May and his twin. Before you start spreading malicious rumors get your facts straight. Don’t depend on Dopy Diane.
Last year Councilperson Clark went into the Town Clerk’s office and asked for assistance from Judi Gelardi. After seven years on the job, Deputy Gelardi was unable to be of assistance Councilperson Clark. Councilperson Clark then suggested to Catherine Gill that Ms. Gelardi receive additional training for her job. Catherine Gill acted on Ms. Clark’s suggestion and Ms. Gelardi was sent to special training classes. (All this is in the records) It seemed the extra training did not help much because Deputy Gelardi still did not know what she was doing. Last year Ms Gelardi had 6 days vacation, she took 16 days without requesting the extra days. The only criticism of Catherine Gill as Town Clerk is why it took her so long to fire her deputy.
What are you two Jokers mean by the hole in the archives. If you see holes, they are in your heads.
No one in Milan has ever had any complaints about the service they received from Catherine Gill. The same cannot be said for her former deputy.

your the guys who alwasys raise bill may when you want to make a big headline - remember bill may is the new buidling inspector - anonymous is just helping you with your own rumors.

again the anger last anonymous, be careful you could have a heart attack

At the very core of the situation is that the Deputy serves at the pleasure of the Town Clerk. Case closed.

One other point...what other reason could the Town Board possibly have to remove funding, other than reprisal or punishment.

Final point. Why is Bill May such an important spoke in the shaky wheels of the Town Board? Last I checked he wasn't elected to any position. As the good sisters used to say "empty barrels make the most noise!" Empty barrel = Bill May.

Exactly, so why do you put his name out there - he isn't the building inspctor and you told us he was - did you lie? or were you just having fun with us?

The town board is just upset because this is one thing they do not have control over. There was just cause on why the deputy was fired, end of story! And by the way the disrespect goes both ways, why should she respect people who are always trying to make things difficult for her? And the comment about her being fired for wanting training is bull!

Ok anonymous #2, You did not answer-What are the gaping holes in the Town archives? Please explain your comment. I'd like to understand your position!

People seem to be very loose with the facts here.

A quote from appraiser bob:

"Jeffreys did it all without raising the tax rate, sure he recevied some income from the expanding tax base from residential development but the tax rate in Milan actually WENT DOWN over his tenure...check out DC Real Property Tax office and provide it to yourself."

OK -- so here it is from the Tax office: Jeffreys era -- above $2 and rising: 1999: $2.10, 2000: $2.17, 2001:$2.18, 2002: $2.22, 2003: $2.23. Talmage era--below $2.00 and dropping: 2004: $1.95, 2005: $1.82, 2006: $1.66, 2007: $1.57.

It's one thing to misrepresent tax issues. Quite another to misrepresent a good person's wrongful dismisal.

Beware of "facts" here.

Gaping holes =

- Minutes that suck
- Lost documents from the building debacle
- "misplaced" clerk's office audit records from the Jeffries era that mysteriously disappeared when Jimmie-boy did...

And the hits just keep on coming...

Gaping Holes part 2

I am told the records room is in shambles, even though the previous town clerk left them in excellent shape. No wonder old Dr. Campisi was so upset becasue the town clerk could not find the deposit slips in her own records room - of course she blamed the supervisor. I'm surprised she did not blame the deputy town clerk, which is what the town clerk usually does. Who is going to be the scape goat now that the deptuty clerk has been fired - fired becasue she wnated formal training - you understand why the clerk was not in favor of that.

Did you know that deputy town clerk was in that position for EIGHT YEARS. During that time she had been sent for training THREE times, the latest being 2006, and she still did not know what she was doing. Would you want someone like that around? Not to mention she was using her office time to keep up on her hobbies.
Why are you Gang of Four lovers always bringing up Jim Jeffries' name, he has been out of office for three years, and you still try to blame him for Talmage's screw ups.

At 6:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That's three more than the town clerk - maybe she should go too.

Anonymous #14 (You people seem to be very loose with the facts)
You are questioning Appraiser Bob's comments on Mr.Jeffreys. Go back to sleep, that was last year and only now you woke up. You must be taking lessons from Bill May.
One question, how does your tax bill compair under the gang of four and when Mr Jeffreys was supervisor. Or are you a non- taxpayer?

Cathie would not do this on her own. "Doctor C." can't pass an opportunity to pick a fight by pulling the strings and fanning the flames.

But I forgot, he is creating a "United Milan" through these kinds of actions that we should all be greatful for.

Did you ever hear "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

At 10:11 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

How insulting are you who would "do unto others as you would have done unto you"! Your implication that Ms. Gill is the puppet of another is insulting to all the women of Milan. Do you imagine that the decision to dismiss an employee was taken lightly?
We should all be grateful that Dr. Campisi has the time and interest to keep the citizens of Milan informed. Please return to your bible - you have not studied enough!

Of course the town clerk does what she is told to do – who do you think got rid of the scathing critical town clerk audit report from the state, who do you think changed her term from 2 years to 4 years, who do you think “helps” her since she really does not know what she is doing – it was Jim and now it is Saint Jack too. And, really aren’t we all tired of Jack – I guess some you forgot the times he went after you. Remember the 80s, remember 2004 when he helped lead the effort to control the supervisor and prior to that he was after Jim. Jack Campisi is not taking care of the town he is taking care of his own ego, which needs constant feeding.
